Press release – Children’s Survey handed in to Library Review – 21st Jan 2014

Overwhelming opposition to library closures by local children

The Friends of Zest group has surveyed local children and young people who use Broomhill, Upperthorpe and Walkley libraries about the Council’s plans to close libraries in Sheffield.

430 children completed the survey, which found that 94% disagreed with the Council’s plans.

The survey report and completed questionnaires have been handed into  the Library Review at Sheffield Council.

Library looking for local authors and storytellers for Readathon

Upperthorpe Library – Friday 24th January 1:30pm until Saturday 25th January 12pm; celebrating all that libraries contribute to the Sheffield Community, whilst protesting against threats to close many of them later this year.
